General information only

The content of this site is patient education. It describes what facial fat transfer is and what it can and cannot do. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment recommendation for any individual, and it does not create a doctor-patient relationship.

No guarantee of volume or survival

A proportion of transferred fat is always reabsorbed and that proportion varies. No surgeon can guarantee how much of the fat placed will survive, how symmetric the result will be, how long it will last, or that a second session will not be needed. Any statement that appears to promise these things should be treated with suspicion wherever you encounter it.

No substitute for examination

Whether fat transfer is appropriate for you depends on findings that can only be established by examining you: where volume has been lost, how much fat is available to harvest, your skin quality, your medical history and your expectations. Reading this site cannot substitute for that.

If something is wrong after surgery

If you develop rapidly increasing swelling, a tense painful area, spreading redness, fever, discharge from an incision, or a new lump that is painful or growing, contact the treating team or seek care promptly rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
